Dunes of Gold

Seafood Thai style down in Chinatown!!

Anthony Bourdain I am NOT!

One of the perks of my job is, I get to go off the beaten path when I go on business trips. And I get to see and experience some cool stuff whenever I go to such places where tourists will never go. Recently, I was somewhere in Thailand in the province of Lop Buri. Where is that? Well it is about 150km northwest from Bangkok.

This area is basically a hilly area dotted with BIG limestone hills that are fast disappearing due to granite blasting and marble manufacturing. The soil here is also fertile which enables farmers to grow corn, tapioca, sugar cane and rice.

And whenever we get to go off the beaten path, we also get to sample the food off the beaten path which is something that I totally look forward too whenever I go *out and about* in a country and this is the time whereby I do think that *hey, I could be the next Anthony Bourdain-Asian style unlike the Asian wannabe Bobby Chin* - Man I hate that guy...but Tony's tops!

And the main reason why I cant be like Tony is not because I am not a good presenter or food expert, (I live to eat, not eat to live) but it's because I lack the patience and control that Tony has, coz even before the camera got to the food to show the audience it's yummy goodness, it is gone. Gone into my stomach and all that's left is all you see right here!
